The Good for you Spaghetti

Be ready because the ever famous Spaghetti is getting a makeover!

Do you love pasta but stay away from it because of how full and bloated it makes you feel after?

Ever notice when you eat pasta (even whole wheat pasta) you feel as if you need to unbutton those jeans?

Well there is definitely healthy alternative to eating spaghetti without the feeling of being nine months pregnant!

The secret is in the pasta!

There is a lovely yellow oblong looking vegetable called Spaghetti Squash! The price varies from store to store, for instance I know that our local grocer sells it for about .97 a lb and one 2lb spaghetti squash feeds my family of 4. The best part is that even picky eaters tend to enjoy this squash, it is also very simple to cook and no boiling water necessary.

Spaghetti Squash

Step 1: Preheat your oven 400 degree, and proceed to cut the squash in half-length wise.

Step 2: Remove the seeds from the inside with a spoon.

Step 3: Season with olive oil, salt and pepper.

Step 4: Place on a baking tray (with the cut side up)

Cook for 45 minutes and allow at least 10 minutes for a cool down.

Step 5: Using a fork gently begin to scratch the inside of the squash so that the vegetable begins to come up. Serve in a bowl and add the topic of your choice!

Step 6: Enjoy!
